Since 1984, SAFY of Ohio has cared for families and children, providing a brighter today and strength for them to carry throughout their lifetime. Our qualified staff ensure programmatic excellence and positive clinical outcomes, boasting a proven track record of successful child welfare program development and a deep understanding of the needs of Ohio’s families and children.

services

therapeutic foster care

Our Therapeutic Foster Care (TFC) services provide a stable home environment with families who care for and believe any child or teen can achieve their full potential. Utilizing a team of highly-qualified treatment foster homes, we support each youth’s greatest needs. Our foster families are equipped with tools such as parental skill building and behavioral coping skills to ensure each child’s physical and emotional well-being needs are met. Our foster parents serve as Agents of Hope, a mentoring bridge between youth and their biological or adoptive family, securing the child’s future.

adoption through foster care

There are fewer things more important than ensuring that every child is a part of a loving, nurturing, safe, forever family. When a youth cannot return to their biological family, SAFY Adoption services bridge their journey to a forever family and support families who desire to adopt through foster care.

SAFY is a proud partner with the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption and recipient of funding through the Wendy’s Wonderful Kids ® program that supports SAFY with child-focused recruiters to find forever families for foster youth.

In some locations, we provide step parent and relative adoptions for a fee. We also provide private adoption services as requested.

behavioral health

Our Behavioral Health services provide dynamic, effective mental health treatment for children and families who have endured trauma, reducing stays in placements such as foster care, residential treatment and juvenile detention. Our services are aimed at mitigating the youth and family’s trauma experience, helping individuals build the skills and support to engage in their community.

We are a proud member of Mental Health & Addiction Advocacy Coalition. Certified community-based mental health provider by Ohio Mental Health and Addiction Services (OMHAS).

family preservation & reunification

The storms of life can threaten the stability of any family’s foundation. Our In-home Family Preservation and Reunification services in Cleveland puts families on a path to creating and maintaining a safe, healthy and sustainable environment for every member. We work to help families overcome short-term barriers which can threaten the stability of the family structure.

older youth services

Our Older Youth Services provide the independent living tools youth need to build and maintain a strong foundation for the transition into adulthood. We work alongside youth building strong walls focusing on their transition to becoming productive members of our community. In times of need, we provide concrete supports such as housing assistance while establishing a plan for long-term self-sufficiency. With the support of our community partners, we provide youth opportunities to achieve the future they envision for themselves.
