older youth services

Creating bright futures
Our Older Youth Services provide independent living tools youth need to build and maintain a strong foundation as they transition into adulthood in Alabama, Kentucky and Ohio. Our journey with them focuses on emotional health, educational services, job training and other life skills needed to reach their full potential and become productive members of their community. We help them identify and develop healthy relationships to create social bonds and build sturdy structures they can lean on for guidance and support. Encouraging them to identify their strengths and interests, we help them set achievable goals for their future and create pathways for educational and employment success.
In times of need, our concrete older youth supports provide housing assistance, transportation, furnishings and food assistance while establishing a plan for long-term self-sufficiency. With the support of community partners, youth leave foster care with opportunities to achieve the future they envision for themselves.
SAFY’s Y-Thrive youth empowerment program aims to expose, empower and equip foster and adopted youth ages 12-18 through rich opportunities to develop necessary life skills that promote self-efficacy and improve their outcomes in the areas of education, job readiness, mental and physical health.
