Valerie Hicks, MSSA, LISW was named the State Director of SAFY of Nevada in 2013. She is responsible for the care and treatment of youth and families throughout the state, and manages the fiscal and contractual viability of all Nevada programs and services. Valerie oversees SAFY of Nevada’s clinical and business operations advancing the organization’s quality continuum of care model and evidence-based practices.
Before joining SAFY, Valerie was the Executive Director of Kids Health 20/20, Inc., and Vice President of Community Relations and Director of Family Health and Neighborhood Relations in Ohio. She was a member of the Woodruff Foundation Board of Trustees and the Mental Health Advocacy Coalition.
Valerie received her Bachelor of Social Work degree from Ohio University and her Master of Social Science Administration degree from Case Western Reserve University.
