SAFY of Colorado, established in 2014, offers hope and healing through our Model of Care. We serve a culturally diverse population delivering the right care at the right time to strengthen families and children throughout our communities. Recognized as a leader in the management and provision of the highest quality community-based services, our clinical expertise produces positive, sustainable change in the lives of families and their children.

Adoptive Services

When children in Therapeutic Foster Care cannot be safely reunited with their birth families, SAFY of Colorado supports Therapeutic Foster Care Parents who desire to adopt the youth in their home. Learn more >

Therapeutic Foster Care

SAFY of Colorado’s Therapeutic Foster Care (TFC) or treatment foster care places youth in need of treatment-level care in a supportive, family environment. Our services focus on permanency, safety and well-being for both parents and youth, providing a therapeutic level of care that addresses trauma healing, parental skill building, success in school and coping skills. Our goal is to ensure each child’s physical and emotional safety and facilitate their return to their primary family, adoption, or kinship adoption. Learn more >

Family Preservation & Reunification

When storms in life impact a family’s ability to achieve physical, social, and emotional well-being, our Family Preservation services provides them with the necessary skills to bounce back from difficult situations and experiences. Our clinical team meets families right where they are to achieve healthy, sustainable relationships at home, at school, and in life. Learn more >

Behavioral Health

SAFY of Colorado provides innovative therapeutic approaches to support youth and families. From animal assisted therapy, yoga therapy, to mental health screenings and assessments. We take pride in meeting families and children right where they are on their journey to better health and well-being. Older Youth Services

SAFY of Colorado’s Older Youth services promote healthy development and prepare youth emancipating from the foster care and/or juvenile justice system for self-sufficiency and independent living. Learn more >

Ryann Vernetson

Ryann Vernetson, MA, LPC


Ryann is a passionate and innovative leader earning increased responsibility throughout her career. She joined SAFY of Colorado in 2014 as a direct care clinician of the Family Preservation services program. She collaborated in pioneering SAFY’s Northern Colorado division before becoming the State Executive Director in 2016. Her strengths include leveraging long-standing community relationships with a commitment to holistic practices and trauma-informed care. She is a leader in driving excellence and growth in service delivery and treatment through continuous quality improvement and cutting-edge research.
