SAFY elects Board Officers for 2013
Sandra Chester selected Board Chairman

(DELPHOS, Ohio) – The Board of Directors of Specialized Alternatives for Families and Youth (SAFY) of America recently held its quarterly meeting electing new officers for the upcoming year.

Sandra Chester of Arizona was elected to serve as Chairman effective January 1, 2013. Ms. Chester joined the SAFY of American Board of Directors in 2008 bringing her knowledge and experience in health care management. She served as the Chief Executive Officer for the Greater El Monte Community Hospital and the Whittier Hospital Medical Center in California. In 1995, she was selected CEO of the Year by OrNda HealthCorp. She previously served as Vice Chairman of the SAFY of America Board.

The board also named Carter Papke of Alabama as Vice Chairman. Mr. Papke is the former Director of the Pre-Trial Division Program with the District Attorney’s office in Montgomery. His experience in juvenile justice involves non-violent offenders, many of whom had troubled childhoods. Attorney Dan Pappas of Indiana was appointed Secretary/Treasurer for the upcoming term.

"Board participation requires a substantial investment of time and energy," says Richard R. Nedelkoff, SAFY President and Chief Executive Officer. "I look forward to working with Sandra and the Board in the upcoming year as we continue to advance SAFY’s Continuum of Care model and evidence based programs in the child welfare and juvenile justice industries."

The remaining members of the board include Dinah Anderson of Ohio, Cody Bateman of Texas, Ben Brooks of California, Quan Cory of Ohio and Don Layton of Nevada.
